Ester Curini

Animals are at the center of Ester Curini's work. In a world largely shaped by human stories and human concerns, her paintings shift the focus toward animals whose lives unfold independently of our own.

Set against luminous white backgrounds, her subjects are removed from landscape, habitat, and narrative. Nothing distracts from their presence. A wolf, a bison, a mountain lion, or a raven is not presented as a symbol, a specimen, or a representative of a species, but simply as a living being worthy of our full attention.

Through scale, light, and realism, Curini creates encounters that feel immediate and direct. Her paintings invite viewers, if only for a moment, to step outside a human-centered world and look at another living being on its own terms.

Born in Casale Monferrato, Italy, Ester Curini is a New York-based American artist. She is self-taught, and her work has been exhibited by Bernarducci Meisel Gallery (NYC), Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts (Binghamton, NY), Evoke Contemporary (Santa Fe), Plus One Gallery (London), Galerie de Bellefeuille (Montreal), Imago Galleries (Palm Desert), and the Salmagundi Club (NYC).

Her paintings have been featured in publications including American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, Poets & Artists Magazine, Hyperrealism Magazine, and International Artist Magazine.
